A TOUCH OF GOLD
A Touch of Gold
A Touch of Gold was created in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Stony Brook Children’s Hospital hematology/oncology patients, siblings, and staff created artwork with gold accents inspired by the color of gold that represents children affected by cancer.
The exhibition celebrates the creativity, individuality, and voices of our pediatric hematology/oncology community. Each piece reflects something unique about its artist, reminding viewers that children and families affected by cancer are not defined by a diagnosis.
Art therapy is offered as a psychosocial supportive service within the Valerie Fund Children’s Center at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, providing opportunities for self-expression, connection, stress reduction, and confidence building throughout treatment.
